New Development Bega - Sapphire Coast

The Sapphire Coast extends from Eden to Narooma and includes the Bega Valley. Bega is the central business hub for this region.

Located in central Bega, Sapphire Marketplace will become the primary shopping destination of the Sapphire Coast. When complete the Centre will comprise the regions first discount department store - Big W, a full line Woolworths Supermarket, Woolworths Liquor, Dick Smith, a large Discount pharmacy and the potential for approximately 40 specialty stores. The Centre will also have plenty of parking with spaces for over 600 cars.

Sapphire Marketplace is located on the corner of Auckland and Upper Streets with Council Chambers, the town park, the RTA and local High School all located nearby.

Bega is the CBD of the Bega Valley Shire, now known as the idyllic Sapphire Coast. Bega is the main commercial and administrative centre for the Sapphire Coast which covers an area of approximately 6,000km2 and includes 106km of coastline.

The region is famous for its proud tradition of cheese making and is a strong tourist destination to the coastal beach townships of the Sapphire Coast.

Sapphire Marketplace is currently under construction with a target completion date in late 2011, early 2012.
